U.S. Congressman French Hill
Dear Friends,

A quality education is the best tool for making the next generation of Arkansans more successful than the last. This topic has been a priority of mine since I came to Congress at the beginning of last year.

As someone who is committed to bringing more jobs to our state and growing the local economy, I believe fulfilling this mission starts with making sure we have a well-educated and skilled population.

One way I am working on this in Congress is through the Congressional Investment in America’s Skilled Workforce Caucus, which I co-chair. This caucus has turned into a portal for ideas on the best ways to encourage young students to develop a plan for achieving economic independence after they complete their education.

The ultimate mission of our caucus is to help students realize that the sound guidance and teaching they received from their local school systems will provide them with opportunities, whether or not they have a four-year college degree.

On Monday, I hosted an Educational Roundtable with 21 superintendents from across the seven central Arkansas counties.

Hearing from our state's education leaders about what’s working and what needs improvement gives me the best understanding of which policy ideas and directions will work for kids in central Arkansas. We are fortunate to have good education leadership in place in the Second Congressional District, and I look forward to continue working side-by-side with our educators to give our students the best possible chance for economic success after they graduate from our local schools.

Sincerely,

Representative French Hill

NPS Celebrating 100 Years

Earlier this month, Rep. Hill recorded a video from Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site for C-SPAN to commemorate 100 years of the National Park Service (NPS).

Last week on the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, Rep. Hill stated:

"Today marks 100 years since President Woodrow Wilson signed an act creating the National Park Service. We should all be very proud of this legacy, and I encourage all of you to spend some time at one of Arkansas's great parks or historical sites this year."
