Dear Friends,

This week, President Trump delivered his first State of the Union address to Congress, outlining the successes of 2017 and his vision for the domestic and foreign policy priorities.

In 2017, the U.S. economy grew faster with more opportunities for Arkansan and American families through a better regulatory environment.

In 2018, we will find bipartisan solutions including investing in needed infrastructure and securing our border while finding an equitable solution for our Dreamers.

I thought the President’s review of 2017 was important because he talked about getting the economy growing faster with more opportunities for our Arkansas families with both regulatory reform and the recent tax cuts. He touched on bipartisan priorities and tackled new problems that I think all of our families face across the country. Like how do we lower the cost of pharmaceuticals that are required by our doctors, and how do we tackle the opioid crisis that has tragically affected so many families in Arkansas and across the nation?

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is already returning money to hardworking Arkansans and Americans in the form of less money being taken out of paychecks.

And, busy parents value more time and want a simpler and fairer tax system, and the good news is, thanks to the recent Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, nine out of ten Arkansas families will spend less time preparing their taxes and have more income left in each paycheck for their family goals.
